Holy Cross Parish is a single Roman Catholic parish of the Diocese of Sioux City that worships in two church buildings on the west side of Sioux City, Iowa: the historic Blessed Sacrament Church at 3012 Jackson Street and St. Michael Church at 2223 Indian Hills Drive. The two sites share one pastor, one parish staff, one bulletin, one Parish Council, and one faith-formation program. Baptism Preparation
Parents preparing for the baptism of an infant or young child register for and complete the Baptism Preparation Class, which is held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM in the Blessed Sacrament Parish Center.

OCIA — Becoming Catholic
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the parish's year-round formation process for adults seeking to enter the Catholic Church or to complete their initiation. The process is appropriate for the unbaptized, those baptized in another Christian tradition, and Catholics who were baptized but not raised in the faith. Deacon Fred and Beth Karpuk lead the program, with presentations rotating among the parish deacons and Fr. Randy Schon.

EDGE Youth Group (Grades 5–8)
EDGE is the parish's middle-school youth ministry. It exists to give students in grades 5 through 8 a joyful community in which they can encounter Christ, build Christian friendships, and begin an intentional relationship with Him through games, talks, and small-group breakouts. The group is coordinated by Deacon Pat Brockhaus and feeds into Life Teen for high-schoolers.

Adult Faith Formation with Fr. Randy
Father Randy Schon leads a weekly Adult Religious Education class on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the Blessed Sacrament Parish Center. Topics rotate through Scripture, Church history, morality, Catholic teaching, and open Q&A — parishioners can sign up to receive weekly reminders and discussion topics.

Parish Library & Women of Faith
The Holy Cross Parish Library, staffed by the parish Women of Faith group, holds hundreds of Catholic books for children and adults. Visitors can browse in a quiet lounge off the hallway to the right of the altar at Blessed Sacrament. Self-checkout is available.

Parish Council
The Parish Council serves as the advisory board to the pastor, meeting quarterly (and as needed between meetings). Diocese of Sioux City
Holy Cross Parish belongs to the Diocese of Sioux City, which was established on January 15, 1902 by Pope Leo XIII by separating 24 counties in northwest Iowa from the Archdiocese of Dubuque. The current ordinary is Bishop R. Walker Nickless, the seventh Bishop of Sioux City, ordained and installed January 20, 2006.
