Parish History
Blessed Sacrament was canonically established in 1967, originally within the Diocese of Saint Augustine. Groundbreaking for the church was held in 1969, and the first Mass was celebrated on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1969. On June 18, 1968, Pope Paul VI erected the Diocese of Orlando, and Blessed Sacrament became part of the new diocese under its first bishop, the Most Reverend William Borders. Bishop Borders was succeeded by the Most Reverend Thomas Grady, the second Bishop of Orlando, in 1974. The parish marked its 50th anniversary in 2017, celebrating more than five decades of Catholic worship and service in North Brevard.

Sacraments
Blessed Sacrament prepares parishioners for the sacraments of initiation, marriage, and Anointing of the Sick. Parents seeking Baptism, couples preparing for marriage, and adults considering the Catholic faith through the RCIA are asked to contact the parish secretary to begin the process.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish Religious Education program (often called CCD) forms children and teens in the Catholic faith and prepares them to receive the sacraments. Sacramental years require two consecutive years of prior formation, and the parish also runs a High School Youth Group meeting on Sunday evenings. Darlene Wegner coordinates the program.

Parish Thrift Shop
The Blessed Sacrament Thrift Shop is located directly on the parish grounds at 5135 N. Cocoa Blvd. and is a major source of parish fundraising. It sells a wide variety of new and used items at bargain prices — furniture, clothing, housewares, appliances, sporting goods, office furnishings, and knick-knacks — and all proceeds benefit the parish. The store is staffed entirely by volunteers and always welcomes new helpers.

Community Life: Flea Market, BINGO & Fellowship
Outside of Mass and the sacraments, Blessed Sacrament has a strong tradition of community fellowship. The parish hosts a monthly flea market in its parking lot and weekly BINGO nights in the parish hall, alongside parish dinners and other social events.
