History
As early as 1910, Catholic families gathered in homes in Minneola for Mass. In 1933, a wooden mission church was built on Lake Avenue in Clermont. In 1961, it became a parish with Reverend Hugh Keane as its first pastor. A new church was built in 1963 on Twelfth Street (now Saint John Bosco Hall). In 1969, Reverend Fabian Gimeno oversaw renovations and construction of parish buildings. In 1982, Reverend Jose Mena began planning for a new church. Construction of the current church began in 2000 and was completed in 2001. In 2008, Santo Toribio Romo Mission Church was established in Mascotte. The parish is now served by Reverend Mark Wajda as Parochial Administrator.
