Parish History
Blessed Sacrament Parish was established in 1957 on the east side of Flint and Burton, Michigan. In the 1970s it became the new home for Hungarian Catholics displaced from Flint's St. Joseph Hungarian Catholic Church, which was demolished for the I-475 expressway. Those parishioners organized the Hungarian Club and, by 1974, funded the construction of a rectory and an activity hall named for St. Joseph. On 10 June 2012 — the Solemnity of Corpus Christi — the Diocese of Lansing decreed that Blessed Sacrament be merged with Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Davison. The Burton church was reduced to an oratory under canons 1223–1225 and now serves as an auxiliary place of worship for the combined parish.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Religious education for children in PreK through 8th grade is coordinated by Chris Maniaci, with Sue Schroeder providing administrative support. Adult initiation into the Catholic Church is shepherded by Elaine Ouellette through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. The parish also operates a Preschool under the direction of Juliann Pumphrey.

Hungarian Catholic Heritage
After Flint's St. Joseph Hungarian Catholic Church was torn down in the 1970s to make way for the I-475 expressway, its Hungarian Catholic community migrated to Blessed Sacrament in Burton and formed the Hungarian Club to preserve their ethnic roots. By 1974 the Club's fundraisers had financed a new rectory and an activity hall named for the original St. Joseph parish, and the group remains an important part of Blessed Sacrament's identity and fellowship life.
