The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Pensacola, Florida, traces its parish to a canonical establishment in 1781, making it one of the oldest Catholic parishes in Florida. The present Gothic Revival church building was dedicated in 1886, replacing earlier structures. On December 28, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI elevated the church to the status of a minor basilica. It serves the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.
