Parish History

The Wildwoods and Diamond Beach have had a strong Catholic presence for generations. In 2008, Bishop Joseph Galante announced the merger of St. Ann’s and Assumption parishes to meet pastoral needs. After community input and planning, the new parish was named Notre Dame de la Mer in 2009 and officially created on February 17, 2010. The parish operates two worship sites and uses a Priest Team model with multiple priests. In 2015, Father Joseph D. Wallace became pastor, with Father Yvans Jazon and Father Cesar Rebolledo-Ramirez as parochial vicars.
