Assumption Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in Jacksonville, Florida, founded in 1913 and now home to more than 1,000 households. The parish belongs to the Diocese of St. Augustine and is led by Very Rev. Jason Trull, V.G., V.F., who also serves as the diocese's Vicar General. Assumption shares its campus on Atlantic Boulevard with Assumption Catholic School (founded 1923, more than 600 students, preschool through 8th grade) and the Assumption Early Childhood Learning Center, and it is distinguished by a long-standing Burmese Catholic community that celebrates a weekly Sunday Mass in their language. The parish is a member of the National Eucharistic Revival, with Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration having been formally established under Fr. Fred Parke.

Our Story — A 110-Year Catholic Presence on Atlantic Boulevard
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish was established in 1913, with the first Mass offered in a rented store. The original Assumption School opened in 1923 at Gary and Naldo Streets with 110 students taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine. In 1948, Fr. James Cloonan purchased Atlantic Boulevard land; the former Merrill-Stevens Shipyard Administration Building was converted into a school that reopened in 1949 with 317 students, now led by the Sisters of St. Dominic of Adrian, Michigan. The present Mission-Style church was built in 1955 on property adjacent to the school after the Gary Street site was displaced by Interstate 95, the bell tower was added in 1973 as a gift from Casper and Bernadine Fechtel, and the church was fully renovated in 2008–2010. The parish reached its 100 Year Anniversary in 2013.

Worship, Sacraments and Devotions
Weekend Masses are celebrated Saturday at 4:00 PM (Vigil) and Sunday at 8:00, 10:00, 12:00, 2:00 (Burmese) and 5:00 PM, with an 8:00 AM Saturday Novena Mass in addition. Weekday Masses are offered Monday through Friday at 6:30 and 8:00 AM, with a Wednesday 8:00 AM Novena. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is heard Saturday 2:30–3:45 PM and Sunday 9:00–9:55 AM, or by appointment.
Weddings and Other Sacraments
Couples preparing for marriage are connected with the Teams of Our Lady marriage ministry. The parish also offers the OCIA process for adults seeking initiation (Matthew Schmidt, director), Religious Education for children, and hospital visits and anointing through the Hospital Ministry coordinated by Deacon Dale Tatum and Ed Coppedge.

Faith Formation and Education
Faith formation at Assumption spans cradle to adult. The Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother staff Religious Education and assist with the school; Matthew Schmidt directs Adult Faith Formation and OCIA; and Jennifer Kollasch leads the Youth Ministry, which runs the Life Teen (high school) and Edge (6th–8th grade) programs. Walking with Purpose provides women's Scripture study, and the parish also lists Cursillo, Catholics in Recovery, and Red Bird Ministries among its formation opportunities.

Assumption Catholic School (Preschool–8th)
Founded in 1923 and now enrolling more than 600 students, Assumption Catholic School sits on the same Atlantic Boulevard campus as the parish church. Its mission statement reads: 'United in the Eucharist, the Assumption Catholic community is committed to fostering academic excellence while placing Christ at the heart of all we do.' The Home and School Association completed a $250,000 playground renovation unveiled in January 2024.

Burmese Catholic Community
A distinct Burmese Catholic community worships at Assumption, gathering for a weekly Sunday Mass at 2:00 PM in their language. The community has its own ministry contact (Sarah Maley).
Parish Life, Outreach and Service
Assumption's 30+ ministries cover worship, formation, fellowship, outreach and service. The Charity Outreach ministry, led by Deacon Dale Tatum, coordinates works of mercy; Respect Life and Divine Mercy devotion are led by Tony Grado; Grief Share and Health & Wellness support parishioners through loss and illness. Fellowship groups include the Altar Rosary Society, Assumption Women's Club, Ladies Book Club, Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, Senior Luncheon, and the Burmese community.

Music and Liturgical Arts
Liturgical music is led by Organist and Music Director Robert (Bob) Waddell, with a choir room located off the main church lobby. The lobby also houses a book/gift store, the children's 'cry' room, and a combined lector / altar server room.
