All Saints Roman Catholic Church is a welcoming, urban parish located on Lancaster Avenue in the southeast neighborhood of Syracuse, New York, within walking distance of the Syracuse University South Campus housing. Officially created on the Feast of All Saints (November 1, 2008) through the merger of Our Lady of Solace, St. Therese the Little Flower, and later St. Andrew's parishes, its roots trace back to 1926. In the spirit of Vatican II, All Saints describes itself as an open and welcoming Catholic community grounded in the Eucharist, intentionally embracing diversity, LGBTQ+ members, refugees, immigrants, and Syracuse University students alike, with an extensive roster of outreach ministries locally and abroad.

About All Saints Parish
All Saints Parish is an open and welcoming Roman Catholic community in the spirit of Vatican II, grounded in the Eucharist, that strives to live the Gospel call to holiness, justice, and loving service to all. Officially established on the Feast of All Saints, November 1, 2008, the parish was born from the merger of the former Our Lady of Solace Parish, St. Therese the Little Flower Parish, and (later) St. Andrew's Parish. Although the parish is young, its roots extend back to 1926, when both Our Lady of Solace and St. Therese were founded on the southeast side of Syracuse. The parish embraces the rich diversity of its southeast urban neighborhood and extends that welcome through its missions of worship, friendship, service, and pastoral outreach.

History of the Parish
Our Lady of Solace Parish, founded in 1926, was an anchor in the Salt Springs neighborhood and home to many African American Catholics. St. Therese the Little Flower Parish, also founded in 1926, sat in the heart of the Syracuse University residential neighborhood near the South Campus housing complex and grew into a community of local residents and university-affiliated students, faculty, and staff. In 2005, St. Therese was formally linked with Our Lady of Solace as part of diocesan reconfiguration. The two officially merged into All Saints on November 1, 2008, taking the former St. Therese Church on Lancaster Avenue as its physical home. When neighboring St. Andrew's closed shortly afterward, many of its parishioners joined All Saints, and the parish took on the Nicaragua partnership that Frank Woolever of St. Andrew's had begun in the mid-1980s. The parish's new identity was deliberately shaped to celebrate inclusiveness and diversity.

All Saints is led by a pastoral team headed by Fr. Frederick D. 'Fred' Daley, who has served as pastor since the parish's founding in 2008. Mass & Sacrament Schedule
All Saints celebrates Mass throughout the week and live-streams its liturgies. Weekend Masses are Saturday at 4 PM, Sunday at 9 AM, and Sunday at 11:30 AM. A daily Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 11:30 AM. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered every Saturday from 3:00 to 3:45 PM, and Fr. Fred is available for emergencies.

Music & Liturgical Ministries
Liturgical life at All Saints is celebrated through multiple music ensembles that reflect the diversity of the community: a Traditional choir at the Saturday Vigil, a Gospel Choir at the Sunday 9 AM Mass (a continuation of the historic Our Lady of Solace Gospel tradition), a Contemporary ensemble at the Sunday 11:30 AM Mass, and a Congolese Choir serving at the 11:30 as needed. Funeral music is coordinated by Barbara Hadley. Beyond music, lay liturgical roles include Eucharistic Ministry, Lectoring, Altar Server, Altar Linen Angels, Environment Decor, Greeters, Holy Sewers, Ushering, and Weekend Hospitality. Meg Ksander serves as Coordinator of Liturgy.

Faith Formation for Children and Youth
All Saints offers a comprehensive faith formation program for children and youth that focuses on prayer, service, knowledge of Catholic faith, and community. In-person Faith Formation sessions meet Sundays from 10:15–11:15 AM. The curriculum is Gospel Weeklies by Pflaum Publishing, differentiated by grade level. Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation are integrated into the program.

Faith Enrichment for Adults & OCIA
All Saints offers ongoing adult faith enrichment, including Bible Study (led by Mary Jureller) and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) for those exploring the Catholic faith, adult Catholics seeking Confirmation, or catechumens preparing for baptism. New members are welcome year-round, with sacraments typically received at the Holy Easter Vigil.

Outreach & Pastoral Care
All Saints is deeply committed to serving Syracuse's most vulnerable neighbors. Outreach ministries support local food pantries (including the Eastside Food Pantry and Assumption Church Pantry), homeless shelters, nursing homes, and prisons. The parish is a declared sanctuary parish and a member of the Interfaith Sanctuary Coalition. Pastoral Care visits are coordinated by Barb Hadley and Sue Lamanna leads Bereavement Ministry. Vacation Bible School and parish presentations round out parish life.

New American & Refugee Welcoming Ministry
All Saints has welcomed nearly 200 Congolese refugees into the parish family, with Claudine Ingabire serving as Associate Director of Faith Formation and New American Ministry. Cherie Cogan coordinates the Refugee Welcoming / New American Ministry. A vibrant Spanish-speaking Ecuadorian community participates regularly in liturgy as lectors and translators. Fr. Fred Daley and parishioners have traveled to the Rio Grande and San Diego to learn from Catholic Charities' work with migrants and refugees.

LGBTQIA+ Task Force
As part of its commitment to being an open and affirming community, All Saints created the LGBTQIA+ Task Force to support its LGBTQIA+ parishioners through initiatives that raise consciousness, build community, and hold up role models. The task force led the parish-wide effort to create and adopt the Statement of Welcome and Affirmation of LGBTQ persons, organizes an annual 'Gay and Catholic' lecture series, and hosts the annual Father Mychal Judge lecture. The parish is an annual participant in the CNY Pride Parade.

Black Catholic Task Force
All Saints' Black Catholic Task Force hosted the diocese's Convocation of Catholics of African Descent in April, bringing together Black Catholics and friends to celebrate presence, culture, legacy, and future. The convocation was opened by Bishop Douglas J. Lucia and featured keynote speaker ValLimar Jansen, with liturgies celebrated alongside the All Saints Gospel and African Choirs.

Global Outreach Ministries
All Saints extends its mission globally through long-standing partnerships in Central America and Africa. The Villanueva, Nicaragua partnership — joined with St. Lucy's — supports the Brigadistas, a network of volunteer community health workers serving 56 rural communities, with over 30 years and no maternal deaths among program participants. In Kenya, the parish supports a family in Karare and funds Break Margins Africa, which rescues gay youth from the streets of Nairobi and provides trade training. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the parish supports the Kesho Kongo nutrition program for malnourished children, the SUHUCO women's empowerment program, and a leadership development initiative in Uvira, while also building capacity for displaced peoples in North and South Kivu.
