About All Saints Parish

All Saints Parish is a Roman Catholic community in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, in the Diocese of Scranton, serving the faithful of the greater Plymouth area. The parish's stated mission is to 'live the Gospel in Word, Worship, Community, and Service,' attending to the needs of God's Kingdom through its ministries and parish life. The parish is led by a Parish Pastoral Council, a Finance Council, and various committees, with day-to-day spiritual leadership provided by the pastor and deacon.

History of All Saints Parish

All Saints Parish was created in 2006 when the Diocese of Scranton merged three long-standing Plymouth parishes into one: St. Vincent de Paul, St. Stephen of Hungary, and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Each of the three had been founded by a different immigrant community in the Wyoming Valley coal region, and All Saints continues to honor that combined heritage today.

• St. Vincent de Paul — founded 1872; sixth parish of the Diocese of Scranton; served the Irish immigrant community
• St. Stephen of Hungary — founded 1885; served the Slovak community; one of only three Slovak parishes in the U.S. at its 1894 blessing
• Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (St. Mary's) — founded June 1885; rebuilt after fire and dedicated by Bishop Hoban in May 1905
• 2006: three parishes consolidated into All Saints Parish
• Nov. 1, 2006: renovated worship church officially dedicated
• Nov. 7, 2021: 15th anniversary Mass of celebration

The Church Building and Its Art

The All Saints worship space is the renovated Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on Willow Street, remodeled in 2005–2006 to become the home of the new consolidated parish. The renovation deliberately incorporated sacred art and furnishings salvaged from the three legacy parishes, giving the present church a layered history under one roof.

Faith Formation

Faith formation at All Saints Parish is organized under the name Holy Child Faith Formation. Its building stands on the site of the original 1885 Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary church, preserving a tangible link between the parish's earliest roots and its present-day religious education of children and youth.
