The Church of All Saints is a Roman Catholic parish located at 310 South 9th Street in Keokuk, Iowa, part of the Diocese of Davenport. Founded in 1982, it was formed by the consolidation of three historic Keokuk parishes: St. Peter's (1856), St. Mary's (1867), and St. Francis de Sales (1870). The parish worships in the historic former St. Peter's church building, a striking Late Gothic Revival structure originally designed by Cologne Cathedral-trained architect William John Dillenburg and built between 1879 and 1885, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History
All Saints Parish in Keokuk, Iowa was canonically established in 1982 by the Diocese of Davenport, consolidating the city's three historic Catholic parishes: St. Peter's (founded 1856), St. Mary's (founded 1867), and St. Francis de Sales (founded 1870). All three contributed furniture, fixtures, and sacred furnishings to the newly formed parish. The parish took the St. Peter's church building as its home; St. Francis de Sales was later demolished. The cornerstones from the original churches and the 1907 St. Mary's School are preserved in a Monument Garden behind the rectory. Catholic missionary work in Keokuk actually dates back to 1832, when Rev. Charles Felix Van Quickenborne, SJ first visited the area; the first Catholic parish (St. John the Evangelist) was established in 1844 by Rev. Lucien Galtier.

Architecture & The St. Peter's Building
The parish church is the historic former St. Peter's building, a Late Gothic Revival structure designed by Chicago architect William John Dillenburg — once an assistant architect on the Cologne Cathedral in Germany — and built in stages from 1879 to 1885 at a final cost of $50,000. The marble high altar was carved by Joseph Conradi of St. Louis and dedicated October 8, 1905; the building's foundations had to be reinforced to bear its weight. The structure was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on July 14, 1983 (NRHP No. 83000384), still listed under its original 'St. Peter Church' name.

Chapel of the Angels
Inside the church, the Chapel of the Angels was created in 1982 within what had been the left sacristy area. It now houses the Blessed Sacrament and is used for weekday Masses and First Friday Adoration. Angel statues from the former high altar of St. Mary's were placed in the chapel, along with pews and other furnishings from St. Francis de Sales, symbolizing the union of the three predecessor parishes.

Monument Garden
A Monument Garden behind the rectory near the chapel entrance commemorates the heritage of the merged parishes. It preserves the cornerstones from the first St. Peter's Church (1856), the second St. Mary's Church (1911), the second St. Francis de Sales Church (1898), and St. Mary's School (1907), each refaced to designate the new All Saints Parish.

Mass & Sacrament Schedule
All Saints offers both a weekend and a robust weekday Mass schedule. Weekend Vigil Mass is Saturday at 4:30 PM, with Sunday Masses at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. Weekday Masses are held in the Chapel of the Angels, with Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:30 AM, and Wednesday at 12:10 PM. Monday has a Prayer Service at 7:30 AM. On the first Saturday of each month a 9:00 AM Mass with Eucharistic Adoration and Reconciliation is celebrated until 10:30 AM. Confessions are heard Saturdays at 3:00 PM, by appointment, and during First Wednesday/First Saturday Adoration.

Parish Staff & Leadership
All Saints is led by Fr. Hai Dinh, who was installed by Bishop Dennis Walsh on November 3, 2024. Fr. Hai, originally from Saigon, Vietnam, was ordained in 2008 and previously served parishes in Davenport, Burlington, Muscatine, and the Nichols–Lone Tree–Hills cluster. He also celebrates a 12:55 PM Mass at the Iowa State Penitentiary. Supporting him are Sarah McVeigh (Office Manager / Co-SEC / Liturgical Season Flower Coordinator), Beth Nagel (Pastoral Associate / Safe Environment Coordinator), Teri Dunlap (Accountant), and the parish's liturgical musicians Sarah Vigen (Organist / Music Coordinator) and Kevin Kull (Pianist). The Parish Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM in the rectory.

Faith Formation
All Saints runs a Family Formation program for any age, family composition, or level of faith knowledge — inter-generational community learning about the Catholic faith — plus a Youth Ministry track for grades 6–12. Parish-based Religious Education classes for grades 1–5 meet Sundays 9:30–10:20 AM in the Rectory. The Youth Group and Confirmation program (grades 6–12) meets Wednesday evenings 6:30–7:30 PM in the Youth Center on Bank Street. This year's focus is on the Profession of Faith (the Creed). Registration is $75 per family and no one is turned away for inability to pay.

Social Action & Outreach
All Saints lives its mission of serving all of God's people through several outreach programs. Loaves and Fishes provides parishioners an opportunity to prepare and serve meals to the poor and the homeless at First Lutheran Church in Keokuk twice a year. Brown Bag Weekends take place the third weekend of each month, when parishioners bring non-perishable food, paper products, and monetary gifts for Community Action in Keokuk. During the Christmas season, a small Giving Tree is set up near the church entrance for giving to those in need.

Knights of Columbus Council 619
The parish is home to Knights of Columbus Council 619. Council members support the parish and St. Vincent Catholic School through recurring monthly BINGO nights at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 11 N. 6th Street, Keokuk. Doors open at 5:00 PM and BINGO starts at 6:00 PM; from April through October (except July) the school BINGO runs November through March. Cost is $20 per person (must be 21 to play). The Knights also host a free Mother's Day breakfast buffet each May.

Devotions & Parish Life
Beyond Mass and Confession, All Saints hosts a weekly Holy Rosary on Tuesdays at 3:00 PM, with Coffee & Donuts after the 7:30 AM Mass each Thursday in the Rectory (no donuts during Lent). A parish luncheon potluck is held at 12:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Rectory.

Information on Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion, Marriage, and the Anointing of the Sick is available through the parish office at 319-524-8334. The parish also has a regular Program for protecting God's children, required by the Diocese of Davenport for anyone working with minors or vulnerable adults.

St. Vincent Catholic School Partnership
All Saints partners closely with St. Vincent Catholic School (located at 2981 Plank Rd., Keokuk), which is used as the in-person meeting site for parish-based Family Formation sessions. The Knights of Columbus supports St. Vincent through seasonal BINGO fundraisers and a Mother's Day breakfast. Fr. Hai visits the school office and works with the principal (Mrs. Shari Bozarth) on parish–school collaboration.
