All Saints Catholic Church (also known as All Saints Parish) is a multicultural Roman Catholic parish in the Harvey Park neighborhood of southwest Denver, Colorado, in the Archdiocese of Denver. Founded in 1950 to serve returning WWII veterans and their families, it has evolved into one of the most ethnically diverse parishes in the Denver area, celebrating the Eucharist in three languages: English, Vietnamese, and Hmong. The parish is led by Msgr. Peter Quang Nguyen, himself a Vietnamese refugee who became the first Vietnamese seminarian ordained in Denver, and the parish serves as one of three anchor communities for Denver's Vietnamese and Hmong Catholic faithful. All Saints is known for its striking 30-foot outdoor mosaic of Christ facing Federal Boulevard and its deep commitment to evangelization, Eucharistic adoration, and family ministry.

History of All Saints Parish
All Saints was founded in 1950 when Archbishop Urban Vehr purchased five acres on South Federal Boulevard for the roughly 220 Catholics then living in the postwar Harvey Park neighborhood. Father John Harley Schmitt was named the founding pastor, and early Masses were held at Loretto Heights College until the first church was built and dedicated in August 1951. On January 8, 1953, that original church was destroyed in a votive-candle fire that the Denver Catholic Register called 'the worst fire in Denver Catholic history'; Pope Pius XII sent a blessed piece of mortar for the reconstruction, which was dedicated in 1954. As the parish grew through the 1950s and 60s, a much larger third church was dedicated on Thanksgiving Day 1968 by Archbishop James Casey — the 1,100-seat sanctuary that still stands today, with its landmark 30-foot outdoor mosaic of Christ on Federal Boulevard.

All Saints is currently shepherded by Msgr. Peter Quang Nguyen, a Vietnamese refugee who arrived in Denver in 1981 and became the first Vietnamese seminarian ordained in the archdiocese. He is assisted by Parochial Vicar Fr. Michael Tran, with Fr. Roland Freeman serving as a priest in residence. Two deacons — Deacon Chuck Parker Jr. (celebrating 25 years of diaconal ministry in 2024) and Deacon Joseph Vu — round out the ordained team, and a small office staff handles day-to-day parish operations.

Pastoral & Finance Councils
Lay leadership at All Saints is exercised through a Finance Council and a Pastoral Council, whose members are listed in the weekly parish bulletin. The councils share responsibility for stewarding the parish's temporal resources and discerning its pastoral direction, in collaboration with the pastor.

Sacramental Preparation
The parish prepares parishioners for the Sacraments of Baptism, Marriage, and others through scheduled classes and priest-led formation. Baptisms are by appointment only, with separate English and Vietnamese class tracks. Marriage preparation requires 8–10 months and an initial meeting with a priest; OCIA and Confirmation students are asked to meet with a priest before beginning any marriage-prep classes.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
All Saints runs a year-round faith formation program for children and adults. The Director of Religious Education & OCIA (Mary Nguyen) oversees sacramental preparation, OCIA (the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) for those entering or returning to the Catholic Church, and ongoing religious education. A separate SPRED (Special Religious Education) program, directed by Greg Hastings, ministers to persons with developmental disabilities.

Community Life & Ministries
Beyond the Mass schedule and sacraments, All Saints maintains active lay councils and a vibrant community life. The Family Ministry gathering on the First Saturday of each month brings parishioners together for Prayer, Praise & Fellowship in a more informal setting. The parish also publishes a weekly bulletin listing Mass intentions, prayer requests for the sick, and announcements of community celebrations — including milestone anniversaries like Deacon Chuck Parker's 25 years of diaconal service, which the parish marked in June 2024 with cookies, punch in the Prayer Garden, and a breakfast-burrito reception after Sunday Masses.
