About St. Ignatius College Preparatory
St. Ignatius College Preparatory was founded in 1855 by Rev. Anthony Maraschi, S.J., beginning as a one-room schoolhouse on Market Street and growing into one of the oldest educational institutions in San Francisco. It is a private, co-educational Catholic, Jesuit college-preparatory high school rooted in Ignatian education. The school offers an extensive program of student clubs, affinity groups, and community service grounded in its Jesuit mission.
