About St. Katharine Drexel Preparatory School
St. Katharine Drexel Preparatory School (Drexel Prep) is a private, all-girls Catholic school in Uptown New Orleans with a historically Black heritage. Founded in 1915 as Xavier University Preparatory School by St. Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, it closed in 2013 and was reestablished the same year by six Xavier Prep alumnae who purchased the campus.
