About Mount Carmel Academy
Mount Carmel Academy is a private, all-girls Catholic high school in New Orleans operated by the Sisters of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Sisters came to Louisiana in 1833 and opened a school in 1840. It moved from the French Quarter to the Lakefront in 1926 and now serves over 1,200 students.
