About Mount Alvernia Academy
Mount Alvernia Academy is an independent, coeducational Franciscan Catholic elementary school in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton, Massachusetts, serving students from Nursery through Grade 6. Established in 1927 under the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, its campus overlooks Boston College. The school is accredited by NEASC and the Archdiocese of Boston and was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2015 and 2022.
