About Vocodojo Voice Center · Austin
Vocodojo Voice Center is an Austin, Texas-based voice training studio founded in 2019 by speech-language pathologist and classically trained singer Erik Landry. The practice blends voice science (clinical evaluation, rehabilitation, and biomechanics) with vocal artistry to help singers, actors, voice-over artists, public speakers, and everyday clients heal, train, and protect their voices. Sessions are offered one-on-one either in person at the Anderson Lane studio or virtually, and the center also provides clinical services for clients with vocal injuries and disorders such as Muscle Tension Dysphonia, vocal nodules, and vocal fold paralysis.
Vocodojo Voice Center is owned and operated by Erik Landry, a Board Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (ASHA) who specializes in singing voice diagnostics and singing voice rehabilitation. Landry earned his Bachelor's in Communication Sciences and Disorders and his Master's in Speech-Language Pathology at Southern Connecticut State University (Class of 2015), completed a Voice Pathology Externship at UConn Health, did a research fellowship at Yale-Haskins Laboratories (2013-2014), finished his clinical fellowship at the Vegas Voice Institute (2015-2016), and served as Clinical Director of Outpatient Speech-Language Pathology at Ear, Nose & Throat Consultants of Nevada (2016-2019) before relocating to Austin in September 2019. The center opened its doors in October 2019 and grew through the pandemic by pivoting to virtual sessions. He is a Voting Member of the Pan American Vocology Association (2018-present) and was a Guest Speaker at IVACON in 2017. The studio markets itself as a 'sanctuary for the voice' — a gym and healing space for the voice's Mind, Body, and Spirit — and serves a remarkably diverse clientele: professional singers, vocal coaches, voice-over actors, YouTubers, public speakers, people recovering from vocal cord paralysis, clients with muscle tension dysphonia or vocal nodules, people who have been told they are 'tone deaf,' gifted young singers, and people seeking gender-affirming voice care. His primary referral source in Austin is Dr. Chad Whited of Austin Ear, Nose & Throat Consultants, and he is affiliated with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM). The center packages its services in three tiers (10-Session, Fundamentals 18-pack, and Academy 30-pack) plus single hour and half-hour lessons, with a la carte pricing starting at $100/half-hour and $200/hour, and he is widely praised in reviews for patience, warmth, and clinical precision.

About Vocodojo Voice Center
Vocodojo Voice Center is an Austin-based voice training and voice therapy studio founded by speech-language pathologist Erik Landry in 2019. The studio's defining idea is to combine clinical voice science with vocal artistry so that singers, actors, voice-over artists, and public speakers can heal injuries, expand their range and control, and find genuine vocal freedom. Landry describes the practice as 'a sanctuary for the voice' — a gym and healing space that addresses the Mind, Body, and Spirit of the voice. Sessions are delivered one-on-one, either in person at the Anderson Lane office or virtually, and the practice draws clients from across Austin and from out-of-state who connect remotely.
- Owner/Founder: Erik Landry
- Opened October 2019 in Austin, TX
- Mission: 'To ENLIGHTEN every voice with the truth of voice science while balancing that with vocal artistry'
- Affiliated with HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians)
Our Story — The Founder
Erik Landry began singing as a child and took his first formal voice lesson in the fall of 1999, the start of a lifelong relationship with the instrument. He went on to perform with groups including the Yale Russian Chorus, Yale Opera Chorus, Broad Brook Opera House, and University Singers at SCSU. After graduate study he carved out a specialization in Singing Voice Diagnostics and Singing Voice Rehabilitation, completing externships, fellowships, and ultimately serving as Clinical Director at Ear, Nose & Throat Consultants of Nevada before moving to Austin in September 2019 and opening Vocodojo's doors the following month. He frames his work as a healing collaboration — 'the student is the teacher and the teacher is the student.'

The Discover · Train · Sing Method
Vocodojo's teaching framework follows a three-step progression. Step 1 — Discover — surfaces each client's vocal 'superpowers' and unique challenges, even for experienced singers. Step 2 — Train — develops and coordinates the biomechanics of the voice so the body becomes a more reliable instrument of expression. Step 3 — Sing — applies that technique so the singer can perform freely and expressively, in what Landry calls 'a path of vocal awe and wonder.' The program is designed to increase vocal range, vocal control, and vocal freedom.
- Step 1: Discover — identify vocal strengths and challenges
- Step 2: Train — coordinate voice biomechanics
- Step 3: Sing — liberate the heart of the voice
- Outcome goals: increased range, control, freedom
