Parkrose School District 3 is an educational institution serving the Parkrose community in northeast Portland, Oregon. Located between Northeast 82nd and 148th Avenues, the district encompasses six neighborhoods including Parkrose, Parkrose Heights, Russell, Argay Terrace, Sumner, and Maywood Park. Founded as an agricultural community in the early 20th century, the area retains some pastoral character despite urbanization. The district includes Parkrose Middle School and Parkrose High School, and its boundaries were solidified after annexation into Portland in the 1980s. The area’s history includes Indigenous Chinookan peoples, European settlement, and a legacy of settler colonialism.
