Startpage is a search engine that prioritizes user privacy by not tracking searches or identifying users. It claims to offer a 'private search experience' with no tracking, no cookies, and no user identification. The platform is marketed as a tool for those concerned about surveillance and data collection online. However, user feedback on forums like Reddit indicates inconsistent performance, including frequent CAPTCHAs, broken Anonymous View features, and app crashes — particularly on mobile devices. While it positions itself as a privacy-first alternative, technical reliability remains a concern for many users.
