About BiteUnite Cooking Classes NYC · New York
BiteUnite Cooking Classes NYC is the New York outpost of BiteUnite, a community-driven culinary school and event kitchen founded in Hong Kong in 2015 by designer-turned-chef Patta Arkaresvimun. Located in a Midtown loft at 247 W 30th St (Suite 9F), it hosts hands-on weekend cooking classes (pasta, Thai, dumpling, sushi, baking, Indian, mooncake), couples date-night sessions, corporate team-building events, and a summer kids cooking camp, drawing on a rotating chef community rather than a single resident instructor. The brand has expanded from Hong Kong to San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Seattle, plus food-tour experiences in Rome and Phuket.
BiteUnite began in 2015 in a converted garage kitchen in a small alley in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, where founder Patta Arkaresvimun — formerly creative director at Philips Designs and Gibson Innovations — wanted to build a space where chefs and food lovers could come together. The first BiteUnite co-working kitchen opened in Wan Chai in 2016, followed by a San Francisco location in the Mission District at 600 South Van Ness Ave in 2018. After relocating to the U.S. with her family, Arkaresvimun opened the New York City kitchen in 2023 inside a Midtown loft that seats roughly 30, complete with a balcony and skyline views, followed by Los Angeles. The NYC venue hosts Friday dumpling or sushi classes, Saturday pasta-making and Thai cooking, and Sunday baking sessions, plus a Wellness Program of health-conscious menus and a Summer Kids Cooking Camp. Beyond public classes, BiteUnite NYC runs corporate and holiday team-building workshops (with seasonal themes for Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year) and sells digital gift cards. The business shares an online platform, BiteUnite Cloud, that lets visiting chefs book stations and run their own branded experiences, and also offers a franchise model and 'White Label Kitchen' for entrepreneurs who want to launch their own cooking-class brand without starting from scratch. Reviews on Yelp and Google consistently rate the experience 5 stars, with guests highlighting the welcoming chef community and the loft's Midtown views.
