Baptist Health is Northeast Florida’s largest and most preferred health system, founded in 1955. It is a faith-based, mission-driven, locally governed not-for-profit organization that provides care across all life stages, including through its children’s hospital, Wolfson Children’s Hospital. About Us
Founded in 1955, Baptist Health is Northeast Florida’s largest and most preferred health system with six hospitals and ten emergency centers, plus convenient access to more than 200 points of outpatient care. As the area’s only faith-based, mission-driven, locally governed system, Baptist Health provides care for every stage of life and includes the region’s only children’s hospital, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, as well as many services that would not otherwise be sufficiently provided in the community, such as a continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care.

Community Health & Well-Being
Baptist Health collaborates with community organizations and civic leaders to address real health inequities. It focuses on three strategic priorities: Assessing Community Needs, Making Strategic Investments, and Addressing Community Needs. The 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment identified four priority areas: Access to Care, Housing, Mental Health, and Food Environment.
