Our Mission & Philosophy
A Child's Future describes its mission as implementing a high-quality program that encourages children to learn through hands-on experiences while supporting and educating parents in a combined effort to guide each child. Teachers set up a variety of learning areas from which children choose, and they facilitate learning with open-ended questions and positive reinforcement. The philosophy holds that children gain knowledge about the physical and social world through playful interaction with objects and people, that learning environments must be made appealing, and that children are motivated by their own interests and desires. The curriculum meets the child where they are while stimulating development in all four domains: physical, social, emotional, and intellectual — and each child is treated as an individual in a positive, fun, interactive atmosphere.

Educational Framework & Curriculum
The center uses the Highscope curriculum, a research-based approach built around active participatory learning. Classrooms are organized into interest areas where children can choose their activities, and teachers plan experiences that engage children directly with the materials and people around them. Teachers are hand-selected for each classroom based on compassion, love, and knowledge of teaching, and classrooms are intentionally designed so children feel safe while they learn through play.

Programs by Age
A Child's Future offers age-grouped classrooms for every stage from infancy through school age. Each program is set up so that children can take control of their learning by experiencing and being actively engaged.
Infant Program
The Infant classroom is where co-owner Amy Ocasio spends her days caring for the youngest learners. The program begins at six weeks of age and is built around safe, nurturing, one-on-one interaction.

The Young Toddler classroom is currently led by Amber Cooper, who focuses on nurturing care and growing self-help skills. The Older Toddler classroom is taught by co-owner Morgan Roberts, who emphasizes self-help skills and growing independence. Both programs encourage children to explore at their own pace in a safe, supportive setting.

Preschool Program
The Preschool classroom is taught by Brianna Senishen, who joined the ACFELC team in 2019 and is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC). Brianna brings new and engaging ways to challenge children on their developmental journey and enjoys spending time outdoors with her students.

Prekindergarten & Kindergarten Program
The Pre-K/Kindergarten classroom is taught by Kyle Moyer, who first joined ACFELC as a summer intern in 2018 while earning his Education degree at Kutztown University and became a full-time lead teacher in 2020. The program prepares children for the transition into elementary school with hands-on, interest-driven activities.

School Age Program (Before- & After-School Care)
A Child's Future offers before- and after-school care for school-age children, with busing provided to local elementary schools. The Breinigsville location serves Jandil Elementary; the Macungie location serves Wescosville Elementary, Willow Elementary, and Shoemaker Elementary. Families are encouraged to contact their home district about other schools.

Enrichment Activities
A Child's Future believes in teaching the whole child, so it partners with other local small businesses to bring enrichment experiences directly to the children. Two ongoing programs are Stretch-N-Grow (fitness and healthy-living education with Mrs. SueAnn) and Out of Our Minds Art Studio (mobile art classes with Mrs. Angela). Both programs are designed to introduce children to new experiences and to support other small businesses in the community.

Safety & Security
Safety is built into every part of the operation. The center's doors are always secure, and each parent has an individual access code for entry. Children are signed in and out each day via fingerprint analysis on the Procare System, and the front door is monitored by a motion-sensor video surveillance system. These layers are designed to give families peace of mind while their children are in care.

For Parents
Cooperating with parents is central to ACFELC's approach. The center uses the Brightwheel app to keep families updated on what is happening in and out of the classrooms; parents can check the Brightwheel calendar for events, activities, and updates related to their child.
