The Convent of Saint Esteban in Salamanca, Spain, was established in the 16th century and is a notable example of Plateresque architecture. This Dominican monastery is renowned for its stunning façade, featuring intricate carvings depicting scenes from the life of Saint Stephen. Interestingly enough, the convent once hosted Christopher Columbus as he sought support for his voyages to the New World. Featured here is the main altarpiece of the Convent of Saint Esteban. This altarpiece is a masterpiece of Spanish Baroque art, created by the renowned artist José de Churriguera in the late 17th century.
