St. Hyacinth Basilica is a Roman Catholic church in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, founded in 1894 by the Resurrectionist Order to serve the area's growing Polish community. The present church was built between 1917 and 1921, designed by the firm Worthmann & Steinbach, and dedicated on October 16, 1921, with Archbishop George Mundelein presiding. Long regarded as a center of Chicago's Polonia (the Jackowo neighborhood), it was designated a minor basilica by Pope John Paul II on June 26, 2003. It serves the Archdiocese of Chicago.
