Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis, Indiana, was dedicated on December 21, 1906, under Bishop Francis Silas Chatard. It was designed by the New York firm Renwick, Aspinwall & Russell, with William L. Coulter as lead designer and William W. Renwick (nephew of architect James Renwick Jr.) completing the project. It is the cathedral and seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis, serving as the mother church of the archdiocese since the diocese was elevated to an archdiocese in 1944.
