The Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla, New Mexico, traces to a parish established in 1852 and dedicated to Saint Albinus of Angers, with the original adobe-and-log church overseen by Father Ramon Ortiz. The present brick church was completed in 1908. In 2008 the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship granted it minor basilica status. It serves the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces.
