The Basilica of St. Paul in Daytona Beach, Florida, traces its Catholic community to 1881, with the present Spanish mission-style church celebrating its first Mass in 1927 under pastor Rev. William J. Mullally. Pope Benedict XVI decreed its elevation to a minor basilica on January 20, 2006, solemnized that year by Bishop Thomas G. Wenski on the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. It is a parish church of the Diocese of Orlando and was the first basilica in that diocese.
