Los Angeles Religious Education Congress
2 members Public
The largest annual gathering of Catholics in the world.
History
The Los Angeles Religious Education Congress (often called 'RECongress') is organized by the Office of Religious Education of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. It began as a catechetical institute in the 1950s and developed into its Congress format by the late 1960s.
Held each year in Anaheim, California, the Congress draws tens of thousands of catechists, teachers, clergy, religious, and laity for days of workshops, liturgies, music, and keynote speakers — making it the largest annual gathering of Catholics in the world.
Today RECongress remains a major event for faith formation and catechetical leadership.
